"The Matchbox in the Rain"
π§️ Hope in the Storm
π
Story
Ravi, a young street vendor, sold matchboxes at a traffic signal every evening. One rainy night, business was dead. Soaked to the skin, he stood shivering but didn't leave — he had to earn just ₹10 more to buy his little sister's medicine.
A young vendor braving the rain for his family
An old man in a warm coat stopped at the red light, watching him quietly. When Ravi approached, the man said:
"Why don't you go home, son?"
Ravi smiled, teeth chattering, and said:
"If I leave now, the rain wins. And my sister loses."
The man bought ten matchboxes and left.
Next evening, the same man returned—not to buy, but to offer Ravi a scholarship. He was a school principal, and he had seen something rare: a burning spirit in a soaked boy.
